The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Carlton Woods opened in 2001 to rave reviews and high acclaim. Designed personally by Jack Nicklaus, the 7,402 yard, par 72 Nicklaus course with its generous teeing grounds and landing areas winds it way around scenic lakes and parklands taking advantage of the region’s beautifully wooded terrain. The greens feature an intriguing design of undulation and bunkering.

The Woodlands Operating Company began development of the Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in 1998. The 7,368-yard, par-72 “signature" course he designed for Carlton Woods was ranked as the Top Private Course in the Greater Houston area by the Houston Chronicle, and in 2001, Golf Digest honored it with the titles "Best New Private Course in Texas" and "3rd Best New Private Course in America." The course was ranked the #2 Private Course in Texas by The Dallas Morning News, 2006.
